This World Environment Day, Green It Up With Bounce

At Bounce – India’s first smart mobility solution, we’re encouraging the use of public transport and ridesharing as a means of reducing Bengaluru’s increasing pollution levels. The city has seen a rise in the number of smart commute solutions like the happy yellow Bounce scooters that have taken over the streets of Bengaluru.

This World Environment Day, we took a step back to reflect and re-imagine the way we commute, and are encouraging our riders to do so with us.

Given today’s changing economy, there’s been an increase in the number of private vehicles taking over the streets. Not everyone could afford a car back in the day, and the thought of buying the Lambro three wheeled scooter when it had just launched in India was a dream. Gone are the days where availability and affordability were daunting factors to consider before owning a scooter. Today, we have a mind-boggling image of 2 crore vehicles in Karnataka alone, and 76 lakh vehicles in just Bengaluru, with the average car emitting about 6 tons of C02 every year. What you drive, how you drive, and how much you drive are all contributing factors to that number.

Keeping in mind India’s changing terrain and increasing population, commute has evolved from what it once used to be. And for good reason. Back in the day you couldn’t even imagine a world with high-speed trains zooming over one’s head, or a ride around the city on a two-wheeler powered by a simple OTP access. Fast-forward to today, and it’s amazing that we get to be in the midst of tech-enabled solutions that have simplified our everyday commute. Technology has enabled us, and innovation has truly motivated us.

We believe that a greener future lies in safer and smarter ridesharing solutions. A scooter today feels like the lifeline of India; born from the heart of the everyday Indian, for the everyday Indian. Our concept of scooter rentals is that of one scooter many rides, revolving around the idea that if one scooter can transport multiple commuters and take multiple rides — all in a single day, Bengaluru’s bottle-necked roads can heave a sigh of relief. Apart from that, simple things like lesser braking and acceleration, going easy on speed breakers and refraining from applying sudden brakes, could go a long way in optimizing your vehicle’s fuel efficiency, and saving the environment.

It is heartening to see an increasing number of millennials opting for scooter rentals over ownership, making smart choices that could lead to a better tomorrow. With markets showing increasing interest in electric mobility coupled with the fact that the future is leaning toward cleaner energy, commute solutions that leave a lesser detrimental impact on the environment are today the need of the hour. By adopting rideshare over self-ownership, we’re challenging you to contribute to a greener planet, and turn back time to days when Bengaluru was truly the Garden City of India.

  1. Even though I have 3Bike,when ever I travel back to Bangalore I prefer to hire Bounce bike,to save time, money and get rid from auto drivers xxxxxx,But I have noticed few of them misusing the facility-Parking wherever they want and stealing helmet (Cheap behaviour) it effect next rider.Let them(Bounce) be in the market to serve us better.
Suggestions:Use smart locking system for helmet too.(a locking method where if we don’t replace helmet in its place ,it should not allow to end the trip)._Kamraj, Bangalore

  2. Hi, Kamraj, thank you for taking the time out to visit our blog ๐Ÿ™‚

We understand your concerns, and our latest post on Scooter Etiquette has been written keeping these hiccups in mind. We feel immensely happy when we see our community of users treating and caring for these scooters as their own. As we collectively do our bit, we hope the number of cases of misuse will go down, and that every citizen will have access to easy and affordable commute ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I use an iphone. I am not able to book bi-cycle from iphone app. Can you folks please get this fixed asap?
I want to go green and use cycles instead of bike as much as possible. Hence the request.
I hope my request gets priority asap

    • Hi Srivathsa ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for dropping by! We’re thrilled to know that you’ve decided to go green and wish to use cycles to commute. Unfortunately, iOS users do not have the option of renting a Bounce cycle through the iOS app, and will have to do so through an Android device. Do reach out to us if there’s anything else we can help you with ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I would like to Inform you everything looks fancy from above. The reality is bitter the customer support is no good, infact good for nothing do not help the customers to solve the problems, Lot of Bike issues, not maintained, not clean the otp machines for starting vehicles are totally useless.Even GPS is a failure. Even after repetitive complaints no one is even bothered to look into the matter. Customers are not following any rules and bounce is creating a nuisance.

    • Hi Ahmed, we’re truly sorry that you’ve had an unpleasant experience with us. That is never our intention as our teams work day & night to ensure that every ride is a smooth experience. This is a small grievance when seen in the light of the many people who today commute easy, thanks to Bounce scooters. While there are a few unfortunate cases, we do try our best so you don’t have to struggle for a ride. We take your feedback very seriously, Ahmed, and hope as much as you, to see lesser of these instances in the future.
